QUESTION OF THE MONTH

JUNE 2010

It has always bothered me that Easter is mentioned in the Bible. That is until I looked

up the Greek word behind the translated word (Easter) which is found (Easter)

in only one place in Scripture (Acts 12:4).

Acts 12:4 KJV "And when he had apprehended him, he put him in prison, and delivered

him to four quaternions of soldiers to keep him; intending after EasterG3957 to bring

him forth to the people."

The Greek word is PASCHA. The Hebrew equivalent is PASSOVER.

PASCHA - Strong's Number G3957 matches the Greek πάσχα (pascha),

Why would the KING JAMES VERSION translate a word (Pascha) which occurs 29 times in 27 verses in the Greek only ONE TIME to the word EASTER?
